The Story of Training

I agree with Monty Roberts, “The Horse Whisperer,” that it is the time in the arena where true education occurs, not necessarily in the university classroom. After my university classroom days, I spent the next ten years in a wide variety of working environments -- small businesses, government agencies, educational systems, mom ‘n’ pop shops, and large corporations. These ten years would generate for me a plethora of teaching examples.

Next came eleven years as a business manager to a Disney Imagineer. During those years we worked together building his dream, with all the attendant ups and downs, excitement and disappointment. I had an insider’s view of a growing enterprise, and these experiences in the reality of small business provided me with solid knowledge of what it takes to build a company from the ground up.

I train others in these foundations. I also live these foundations on a daily basis in my own small business.
